Jilly goes to the top of PADI!

Jilly in Kota Kinabalu

So since we started our Dive Diva Diaries, Jilly has been one of our most prolific contributers. Well... it seems she has been expanding her repertoire of scuba diving the most over the last few months. And here she is, aiming for the very top of PADI, on her Course Director Training Course (CDTC for short). On successful completion of this, she will then be qualified to run her own PADI SCUBA diving instructor courses. We are all waiting to hear how she does.

COURSE DIRECTOR TRAINING COURSE- KOTA KINABALU MALAYSIA

Day One - getting there

All went well leaving Sharm after a day of panic for a couple of reasons. Firstly forgetting to pack knickers (yes I got them in the end). And secondly with the big sand storms we were having, I was afraid the plane would be cancelled and we would miss our connection to K.L (Kuala Lumpa). But we made it to Cairo with plenty of time, that is till we got to check in at Cairo International airport. Before getting to the desk we had to go through security, and in their widom, the Egyptian Police had only opened 2 X-Ray machines for 20 million people all bustling to get through, scared of missing flights. Our check in was due to close in 40 mins and we were still not near the front of the queue or should i call it a push!!!

Made it to the plane with 10 hours of flying to go. Oh well Bianca and I had a nice hotel room waiting for us, and a day sight seeing to look forward to before our 19.30 flight out of K.L on to Kota Kinabalu (K.K).

Garry had decided he wouldnt stay at the hotel and would go straight to the other airport as we landed at 21.30 and he was flying at 6.50 am.

So its now 2.30 am, and Bianca and I are sitting with Garry outside Macdonalds in the airport with no comfy bed to stay in. "What happened?!" I hear you say!!! The Airside Hotel at K.L forgot to inform me that if we leave the airport, we cant get back in to get to the hotel which is on the inside! But we had to leave the airport to retrieve our bags! My knickers have made it this far I am not losing them now!! So, we are going to see if we can exchange our tickets and get onto Garrys flight after all, in 2 hours' time, when the sales office opens. If we can't its gonna be a looonnngg day. I am not sure Bianca has enough chocolate to cope that long. And "NO Bianca, I really dont want anymore!!!"

Lets see if Air Asia are going to be nice and I will let you know tomorrow.
